There were plenty of smiles all around as the Identitywa and Personal Advocacy Service (PAS) communities continue their Christmas tradition every year, and this year was no different.
The two communities came together on what was a hot, sultry Saturday, for their annual end of year Eucharistic Celebration on Saturday 9 December.
Heralded by a big clap of thunder which definitely got everyone’s attention, the Mass was led by Fr Nino Vinciguerra and included a special liturgical movement by representatives from PAS and also contributions from the people Identitywa supports.
Identitywa CEO Marina Re, said that it really was a wonderful way to finish off the year with prayer, beautiful music, lots of colour and joy.
“We truly appreciate the chance to share this occasion, which has become an annual event on our calendars.”
Following the Mass, the festivities continued with over 380 people enjoying a delicious shared meal served in the college gymnasium which was transformed for the Christmas event by Identitywa staff.
“We are very grateful to Julie Hornby, Principal of Mercy College, for allowing us to use the college’s facilities which proved to be a perfect venue for this year’s celebration,” Ms Re said.
