Archive custodians appreciated on Feast of St Lawrence

Past archivists and volunteers of the Perth Archdiocese’s Archives Office were formally recognised last Friday on the Feast of Saint Lawrence, the Patron Saint of Archives.

Friends of the Archives gathered at the Catholic Archdiocese of Perth’s Archives Office on the morning of 9 August.

An Honour Board plaque, dedicated the past archivists of the Archdiocese, was blessed by His Excellency at the Archives Office during morning tea.

Archdiocesan Archives Office Director Odhran O’Brien says the purpose of hosting this event each year is to celebrate the efforts of all those who are custodians of records throughout the Archdiocese, including the parishes.

Last week, the Archdiocese of Perth received an industry award for its Archdiocesan Records Management Project – part of which involved a new MoU agreement with CEWA.
