This year, 2016, marks the 50th anniversary of Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc (SCC).

As a not-for-profit organisation, Southern Cross Homes was created by a group of men from the Order of the Knights of the Southern Cross in 1966 who shared a common desire to improve the lives of frail and vulnerable people in Western Australia.

Southern Cross Care (WA) Inc., continues to support the complex and changing needs of West Australians, in particular those with complex chronic health conditions to access a choice of quality care, health and lifestyle services within a variety of community settings.

To celebrate the 50th Anniversary, a Mass will be held at St Mary’s Cathedral, 17 Victoria Square, Perth, at 5.30pm on Thursday, 21 July.

The occasion is a public event and all Knights, present and past board members, staff, volunteers, family and friends are invited to attend.

The Mass will celebrate the achievements and efforts of all who tirelessly contribute to helping the frail and vulnerable achieve a better quality of life.

Knights of the Southern Cross State Chairman, John Dwyer, said this is a special year for Southern Cross Care and the Knights of the Southern Cross.

“This significant milestone of care delivery to more than 3,000 West Australians has been achieved through the support, loyalty and hard work from the Board, members of the Knights of the Southern Cross, staff and volunteers,” Mr Dwyer said.

The Knights of the Southern Cross and Board of SCC thank all for their tireless efforts to enhance the quality of life of people in Western Australia,” he said.
