The Annual Flame Ministries International (FMI) Conference on 23-25 January produced the most powerful line up of speakers in the group’s 25-year history, according to founder Eddie Russell.

The Silver Jubilee milestone, held at John XXIII College in Claremont, saw a reunion of members, friends and supporters who had been involved with FMI since its inception in 1990.

“It was non-stop, no-compromise, anointed preaching from start to finish,” Mr Russell said.

“It was a very special time for us.”

The weekend consisted of a series of talks and opportunities for prayer as well as the inspired worship from the FMI Music Ministry.

Each of the invited speakers had been integral to the Congress’ history and this year’s line-up was a recognition for their roles in FMI’s development over the past 25 years.

Keynote speaker was international preacher, Aneel Aranha, founder of the Holy Spirit Interactive, based in Dubai.

Mr Aranha first presented at the 2011 Congress when he accepted a last-minute invitation due to ill health of FMI founder Eddie Russell.

Other speakers at the 2015 Congress included Perth Emeritus Archbishop Barry Hickey, who has spoken at most of FMI’s Congresses since its inception; international evangelist Rev Russell Sage; former FMI Senior Director Frank Tassone and FMI founder Eddie Russell.

The theme of this year’s Congress, Hope, was born from a word received in prayer from FMI Assistant Director, Ms Kay Ford, “And give them all new hope in Me”.

“Hope is an intrinsic part of the nature of being human,” she shared.

“And when hope is invested in Christ, there opens up vast and endless possibilities.”

Ms Ford said that providing hope for people had been a fundamental vision for FMI since its humble beginnings when a small group of men praying together sought the guidance of the Holy Spirit.

“We have been faithful to this and will continue to do so,” she said.

“Our Silver Jubilee Congress marked the power and worth of God’s plan and desire for every human being on this earth.”

FMI is a Perth-based teaching organisation of lay evangelists/preachers and a Public Association of Christ’s Faithful and has preached the Gospel to more than 25 million people across 14 countries.
