Two teachers from Perth were earlier this month presented with professional development grants at an awards ceremony at the 2016 ASG National Excellence in Teaching (NEiTA) in Melbourne on Friday 10 March 2017.
ASG’s NEiTA Foundation was established in 1994 as a way of providing communities with the opportunity to formally recognise and thank outstanding teachers and leaders.
Tracey Marsden of Yidarra Catholic Primary School was awarded the prestigious National Excellence in Teaching Award 2016 for her outstanding contribution to Leadership and development in the Early Childhood category.
The award included a $5,000 prize to use towards professional development.
Jacob Windle of St Paul’s Primary School Karratha received the award for Innovation and Leadership and Development in the Primary School section and has been selected as the 2016 International Space Camp recipient.
This amazing achievement has given him the opportunity, along with two secondary students, to attend the NASA Space Camp in Alabama USA in 2017.
In an article published earlier this month, Catholic Education WA said the two teachers are wonderful examples of the educators we welcome into our Catholic education system, where their passion for providing the best learning opportunities for students allows all our students to flourish.
