Parents, students and staff have worked together to establish a thriving vegetable garden at Mandurah Catholic College.

The Bishop’s Garden, named in honour of Bishop Peter Quinn, gives students opportunities to work together, become familiar with seasons and cycles, and reflect on the wonder of God’s creation.

Year 3 students work alongside staff to maintain the garden, and are encouraged to try new experiences, such as tasting new foods, working with new friends and learning new skills.

The garden is an area where children’s senses are stimulated and they can engage in meaningful conversations, learn new vocabulary and take pride in their achievements.

Bishop Quinn was the third Bishop of Bunbury (1987-2001) and instrumental in the foundation of Mandurah Catholic College.
