Alexandra Toussaint-Jackson is living her dream, learning from some of the most gifted and passionate musicians in Australia and singing with the internationally renowned Trinity Choir.

Alex graduated from Iona Presentation College in 2016 with one of the highest music performance scores in the State.

Based on her audition and ATAR, she was offered places and scholarships at the universities of Sydney, Melbourne and Western Australia.

Having accepted the Bachelor of Music and Trinity College Choral Scholarships at the University of Melbourne, Alex will continue her musical journey surrounded by some of Australia’s most talented musicians.

Alex said that she feels extremely blessed to be a part of the choir.

“It’s such an amazing experience being able to talk to likeminded people and make pure music with truly talented people,” she said.

As a member of the Trinity Choir, directed by Tallis Scholar Christopher Watson, Alex will sing at Evensong in St Pauls’ Cathedral and the College Chapel. In 2017, the choir will tour Brisbane and Sydney with talk of a UK tour in the semester break.

“I haven’t had much choir experience before, so this is all very new for me and a little bit intimidating. However, Christopher is such a superb musician that I feel like I am in good hands. The tours aren’t half bad either.”

Alex was asked to perform at the Performing Arts Perspectives at the Perth Concert Hall following her exceptional ATAR performance, however, regretfully she could not attend due to university commitments.

Alex’s peers, Ella Anderson-MacKay, Lara Sawyer, Amy Burnett, Angela Prangnell and Phoebe Howie showcased their visual arts, media and performing arts talents at Perspectives in March.
